New provider needed for North Pole winter attraction in Cambridge

The popular Cambridge winter wonderland on Parker’s Piece - which last year featured an ice rink, fairground-style rides and the country’s biggest ice slide - is still set to go ahead this year in some form, although the previous provider is no longer involved.

At present, Cambridge City Council is looking for a suitable replacement through a tender process in which providers can bid to run the event for 2022.

The council told the Cambridge Independent it will announce the outcome of the process during October, at which point it will be able to let people know what exactly will be on offer to enjoy this winter.

A statement on the North Pole, Cambridge website read: “Unfortunately, The North Pole, Cambridge will not be going ahead this year. We are delighted to offer you an alternative skating experience in the iconic grounds of Hampton Court Palace”.
