Presents Galore, East Anglia’s biggest Christmas fair, returns to Newmarket racecourse
Presents Galore, the biggest and most spectacular Christmas fair in East Anglia, is returning for three days.
The festive shopping extravaganza takes place at the Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket from Friday to Sunday (November 24-26).
With more than 120 boutique stalls, featuring interiors, clothing and footwear, jewellery and accessories, food and drinks, outdoor living plus gifts for children - including toys and clothes - the fair will offer a chance to support local and independent businesses.
There will also be live performances throughout the weekend, with Rock Choir bringing more than 50 singers, Serena Grant singing Christmas songs and and All4Winds serenading visitors.
An annual fixture for 30 years, the fair raised £60,000 for charities in 2022 alone and will benefit three great causes this year: Cambridge Children’s Hospital, Newmarket Charitable Foundation and the National Horseracing Museum, with proceeds - including 100 per cent of ticket sales - benefiting them.
Dr Rob Heuschkel and Dr Cathy Walsh, clinical leads for Cambridge Children's Hospital, which is due to be built on Cambridge Biomedical Campus, said: “We are delighted to be one of Presents Galore’s beneficiary charities again this year. Last year’s event was a great success and we are incredibly grateful for the generous donation to, and support of, our Cambridge Children’s Hospital campaign. Presents Galore is a fantastic event for the region and we look forward to working together again on this year’s event.
“The new Cambridge Children's Hospital will enable us to treat the 1.5 million children and young people in the East of England in a whole new way, integrating mental and physical healthcare and having a life-changing impact. We are raising £100 million in philanthropy and fundraising to enable us to build this state-of-the-art hospital which will provide exceptional care, underpinned by world-leading research from the University of Cambridge.”
Newmarket Charitable Foundation works to create a thriving town for the whole community, while the National Horseracing Museum tells the story of horseracing from its earliest origins to the global phenomenon it is today, with art, sculpture, science and breeding galleries, and some of the world’s most famous racing trophies and unique bronzes and artefacts.
The grand opening takes place at 4pm on Friday.
Tickets are available, priced £8 per adult in advance online, £10 per adult on the door and £6 for Blue Light Card holders (ID required). Under-16s can enter for free with an accompanying adult.
