The new drink is made with the Five Guys vanilla shake base, blended with pistachio to create a drink that resembles an Italian gelato-inspired milkshake.

The pistachio shake joins the chain’s list of existing flavours which include Oreo, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate, strawberry, banana, salted caramel and bacon.

The verdict:

Pistachio is not a flavour I would usually go for, but I have to say that it was very nice indeed – sweet, but not overly so – and tastes even better with whipped cream on top.

The drink is available for dine-in and takeaway in Five Guys restaurants across the country, as well as for delivery on UberEats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.

Founded in Virginia, USA, in 1986 and launched in the UK in 2013 in London’s Covent Garden, Five Guys counts various celebrities among its fans, including Tommy Fury, Mollie King, Ed Sheeran and Maya Jama.

With the recent opening of its new Norwich branch, Five Guys now has 12 restaurants in the East of England region.
