Ruby Wax brought a touch of TV glamour to the city on Tuesday evening when she appeared at the cathedral to discuss her new book, How to Be Human.

Accompanied by a monk, Gelong Thubten, and a neuroscientist, Ash Ranpura – her collaborators on the project – Ruby explained how we can transform our lives.

Zoe French, of Topping & Company Booksellers of Ely, who organised the event, told the Cambridge Independent: “The book is on the topic of mindfulness, which she is something of an authority on these days.

“It’s her second book on mindfulness and the way she treats it is very down-to-earth.”
