Rudy’s Neopolitan Pizza opens Cambridge branch

Rudy’s Neopolitan Pizza officially opened its first branch in Cambridge on Saturday (1 November), but before that it held a special launch for ‘family and friends’ on Friday (31 October).

The opening of the site at 6 St Andrew’s Street marks Rudy’s first venture into Cambridgeshire and its 35th restaurant to date.

Rudy’s is the largest organisation in the world to be accredited by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), the international body that promotes traditional Neapolitan pizza-making.

Recent specials have included ‘Diego’s Diavola’, created in collaboration with Diego Vitagliano, the Neapolitan pizzaiolo named Best in the World 2023 by 50 Top Pizza.

Roxana Ploscar, general manager of the Cambridge branch, said they pride themselves on the “authenticity” of the food.

She continued: “We invest a lot of money in our Italian products – dips and sauces, the bread is made in-house, the pizza dough is made in-house… We don’t use anything frozen, everything is freshly prepared.

“Our homemade desserts are made from scratch every single day. I like to cook a lot myself and working in a place where everything’s homemade, it just makes me feel more proud.”
