Still time to see winning artworks on display at Castle Fine Art Cambridge
The 12 winning artworks from this year’s Cambridge Invitational Art Contest are on display at the Castle Fine Art Cambridge gallery in the Grand Arcade until this Sunday (August 21).
The six local patron awards winners, announced at a special event at the gallery last Sunday (August 14), were: Radek Walachnia (Oak Bistro Award), Peter Partner (Scudamore’s Award), Irina Hoble (Gonville Hotel Award), Dave Pinsker (Cass Art Award), Martin Southwood (Lawrence Coulson Award), and Sue Walker, the winner of this year’s Mayor’s Choice Award.
The other six making up the 12 - all of whom went home with a Cambridge Invitational Award - were Jenny Ebdy, Rikki Morgan-Tamosunas, Lisa Zaman, Galina Holley, Teresa Munn, and Dario Cavicchioni.
Stacy Bodkin, manager at Castle Fine Art, said: “With a few artworks already sold, the winning pieces will be on exhibition until Sunday with 20 per cent from each sale shared between two beneficiaries, Arts 4 Dementia and Arts and Minds.
“We hope many will be able to come in to view the beautiful pieces in person and to support the artists and our two charities that do such vital work.”
J Leone, contest coordinator at Galeria Moderna, added: “It was such an honour to co-host the competition in the gallery for the third time. We had a wonderful evening welcoming winners from across the country at the private event on Sunday night. The evening was a great success with the mayor of Cambridge presenting the awards to the 12 winners.”
