Spectators will watch more than 35 teams – representing businesses and groups from across Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area – battle it out during the day in the boat races, cheered on by supporters.

The teams are raising funds for festival charity Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT). Medals and trophies are awarded to the top three crews, the top mixed crew, the top fundraisers and the ‘best dressed’ crew.

Alicja Mierzejewska, director/event manager, said: “The racing is going to be between 10 and 5pm, it’s free for spectators so people can come and watch on the day for free. There’s a Chinese lion dance at 12, 1 and 2pm, so people can have a look at the Chinese tradition. We have face painting for the kids, a funfair, and some food stalls – and a flypast at 2.50pm.”
