The Sound of Music on this week at Cambridge Arts Theatre

A new production of arguably the world's favourite musical starts this Wednesday (January 22).

Fill your heart with a story of bravery and love as the Cambridge Operatic Society (CaOS) revives The Sound of Music.

Set in Austria in 1938, the free spirited Maria leaves Salzburg’s nunnery Nonnberg Abbey to tutor the seven von Trapp children.

Teaching them how to sing becomes the catalyst for a new way of life, both for the children and for their strict father, the widowed Captain von Trapp.

Mark Turnbull, director of CaOS’ previous production of My Fair Lady, returns to lead a multi-talented local cast.

Featuring much-loved songs such as Do-Re-Mi, My Favourite Things, and How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, you’ll never forget The Sound of Music.

The play runs from Wednesday (January 22) to Saturday (January 25) at 7.30pm. There are also matinee performances at 2.30pm on the Thursday and the Saturday.

Tickets: £18-£33.
