Ajay Tegala has been a ranger in the East of England for almost a decade and based at Wicken Fen for the last four years. Promoting the conservation work the National Trust has been doing at Blakeney in Norfolk for more than a century, Ajay’s book, The Unique Life of a Ranger: Seasons of Change on Blakeney Point, is available at the Wicken Fen shop.

With a foreword by Megan McCubbin, with whom Ajay worked on the BBC’s Springwatch – and endorsements from Chris Packham and Joe Harkness – the book is a tribute to the wonderful wildlife of the Norfolk coast and the trust’s staff and volunteers.

Ajay said: “Few people have had the privilege of living on an isolated nature reserve of international importance. I was 19 when I started my placement with the National Trust at Blakeney Point so have many stories I wanted to share. For over a decade I have been collecting information, keeping diaries, and memorising stories.”
