Priority Digital Health able to integrate systems across NHS
Priority Digital Health can now integrate its healthcare platform with any UK healthcare provider after becoming an accredited partner for the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG) data-sharing technology developed by Healthcare Gateway.
The approval means the Denny Lodge Business Park-based company, founded in 2016, has the ability to access and share more than 60.4million patient records in real time with healthcare settings across the country.
The partnership enables integration with all major GP IT systems, including EMIS Health, TPP Vision, plus data from social care, mental health and community organisations in HTML or structured format. The outcome will mean healthcare professionals being able to make faster and better informed decisions.
Alison Meadows, joint chief executive and founder at Priority Digital Health, said: “The systems we already have in place to protect our patients and their information is vitally important to us and we are continually reviewing and refining the way we do this. Not only for today, but also for the post-Covid-19 future.
“That’s why we are delighted to achieve partner status for the esteemed Medical Interoperability Gateway. The system enables our Priority platform to share data seamlessly across a whole plethora of health settings, streamlining the patient journey and, crucially, saving precious administration time for healthcare professionals.”
The company is at the forefront of digital whole-system approaches to community health and wellbeing including social prescribing.
Patient empowerment and behaviour change is at the heart of Priority Digital Health’s approach, and the company offers custom-designed booking systems with the functionality to signpost patients to the appropriate appointment, helping to ease GP appointment pressure.
GP practices and healthcare organisations around the UK use one of four approved patient management systems – EMIS Health, SystmOne and Vision are three of the most popular – with many providers using different systems which are unable to work together effectively.
Using the Priority platform allows NHS and healthcare partners to share their patient data, in a safe and secure way, ensuring that patients only have to tell their story once.
For instance, a GP refers a patient diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in south London to the ‘Diabetes Book & Learn’ service to book a place on a structured diabetes education course, which is designed to help them manage their diabetes and make changes to their lifestyle – this can all be accessed via the Priority platform at diabetesbooking.co.uk.
The patient is given access to the platform so they can complete their registration and some nationally accredited assessments from home, and then selects an education course to suit them – time, place, online or face to face (pre-pandemic). The course providers seamlessly share their notes and track patient outcomes via the Priority platform – streamlining the patient user journey and freeing up precious administration time.
Liam King, director of customer and commercial at Healthcare Gateway, said: “We’re delighted to be partnered with Priority Digital Health enabling MIG connectivity to seamlessly share patient information in real-time.
“The integration will help healthcare professionals make faster, more informed decisions.
“We’re looking forward to working with Priority Digital Health supporting better health across England.”
