Big plan for Cambridge Pride 2019
Cambridge could have its first fully-fledged PRIDE event next year.
Cambridge LGBTQ+ Pride, a residents group, is planning an event for summer 2019, with a launch and fundraising event happening this year.
“In order to create an event which truly reflects who our community is and what they want from Pride, we need your help!” a post on the group’s Facebook page states. “We’re looking for people to volunteer their thoughts and advice in planning our events.
“We’d like to get input from people who reflect all the diversity of the Cambridge LGBTQ+ community – so from town and gown, migrants and locals, people of different ethnicities, different class backgrounds, different ages, differently abled, and, of course, with different queer identities.”
Pride events are worldwide and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex culture and pride. There are over 20 UK cities that host Pride events.
If you’d like to get involved in the event contact the organisation via the Facebook group Cambridge LGBTQ Pride.
